CYBERDOC
My mother told me that my father went to fetch Doc Barr just before I was born. While they were awaiting my arrival the Doc got sick with a bad case of diarrhea and they had to put him to bed. My father then went to get my grandmother, my mothers Mama, an experienced midwife and she actually made the delivery. I came into the world ass backward, a breach birth, and sometimes wonder if that affected my personality somewhat. Anyway Doc crapped all over my mother’s best bed and then sent her a bill for services rendered! That was the last and only bill my parents ever got from a doctor for services rendered, on my behalf. My next doctor’s services were free, when I enlisted in the U. S. Navy.
Since then my relation with the medical profession has been guarded and my experiences have been borderline disasters or incidents like the one at my birth. It must be me!
Bringing things up to date; are we ready for Cyberdoc?
My grandson is now sixteen years old and is beginning to think seriously of what he plans to do with his life since he is in the process of deciding a course of study during his last years in high school. He has a brilliant mind and an honor roll student and has numerous times in the past year expressed a desire to study medicine. I asked him why he wanted to do this and he said that he felt compelled to help his fellow man and being a Doctor would be a satisfying and successful career.
I told him that I would take a very close and guarded approach while preparing for a career, especially, in the medical field at this particular space in time.
We must ask ourselves, to at least loosely define, the word doctor or MD and the various offshoots into specific and special fields of study. More or less, we come up with a very learned person that has spent years of time and study in the accumulation of knowledge; to use the human mind so that they can increase the probabilities of determining the cause and cure of sickness and disease that plagues mankind.
By the time my grandson, age sixteen, ten years of hard and archaic study will have passed before he could possibly become a Doctor of Medicine with the present medical educational establishments available within the entire country. ON MY GRANDSON’S TWENTY-SIXTH BIRTHDAY WE WILL BE ABLE TO SPEAK DIRECTLY TO A COMPUTER IN OUR STUDY, RELATE OUR SYMPTOMS AND COME UP WITH A MUCH MORE PRECISE DIAGNOSIS AND CURE THAT ANY DOCTOR, PRACTICING MEDICINE ANYWHERE, IS ABLE TO DO BY HIMSELF. You can take this statement to the bank!
Bill Gates at the present time is the where Henry Ford was with the Model T; you ain’t seen nothing yet!
Imagine scanning a person on a conveyor through a "diagnostic analogue computer" for a few minutes and receiving a complete diagnosis and recommended cure with a ninety-nine percent degree of accuracy!
The future is here! The technology, the intellect and the resources are at our doorstep. The quantum particles are being released moment by moment and step by step. These small indivisible units of energy will allow us to out think the human brain in a few short years. We must prepare now to accept and master the inevitable!
This is just a glimpse and a peek into the wave of the future and only covers just one phase of one profession. This is why I am urging and hoping my grandsons and granddaughters will be more selective in choosing their course of study at the present time.
The public is ready for Cyberdoc. Right now!
The medical profession, the educators, the educational establishments and the government agencies are all unprepared to even accept the concept let alone the actuality.
The government is already doing everything they can dream up to block the progress of the genius of entrepreneurs, out front in a quantum leap into the future. They are crying monopoly!
The educators are really afraid that we will finally learn just how uneducated they really are. They are still writing trash while trying to get tenure. Once tenure is attained they become preoccupied with their image.
The educational establishments expend their talents trying to get federal grants to find out and study "The Sleeping Habits of the American Male" or "Why a Tsetse Fly Was Caught Bare Assed in Butte, Montana or some sort of junk like that.
Now we are faced with the real problem. Can you imagine a profession that has been painted by ego’s tainted gloss more than the medical practitioners called Doctors?
Just imagine that you have spent ten years of your life accumulating the necessary knowledge to become a Doctor of Medicine and have just hung your shingle outside your office. Suddenly, just overnight it seems, you become aware that someone had come up with a machine that will in a matter of seconds or minutes, beat the socks off you when presented with the same symptomatic signs of illness or disease. And then throw in the exact cure as a bonus on 95% of your business. What would you do? Especially when it is done at a fraction of the cost of your fees.
This is enough to fire up your thoughts so that you may then use your imagination to carry you far beyond the actualities that lay ahead in the immediately and near future!
So rejoice as we sing and indulge ourselves with the tune of Sweet Vengeance for a while and then ponder a few of the other problems we will now have to face. What would happen with all the money we spend on Medicare or Medicaid? Just think of all the liberal meddling that will be introduced into our lives. I wonder if Blue Cross will be willing to pay for my DAC (diagnostic analogue computer) fees! What will Hillary run on for president; top "madam" in building Bill’s "cat house" legacy? There are all kinds of possibilities!
I wonder if I could qualify for a federal research grant to see if breach birth would really have anything to do with how we view the world when we grow up. Just a thought!
